In this edition of 'Meet the Teacher' we speak with Ms. Andrea Zappulla, a member of our Secondary School Teaching team and Head of Chanel Guild.

Name: Andrea Zappulla - Secondary School Teacher / Head of Chanel Guild - andrea.zappulla@marymede.vic.edu.au

What is your role at the College?

I currently teach Physical Education (Years 7, 9 & VCE), Outdoor and Environmental Studies (VCE) in addition to my role as Head of Chanel Guild.

Tell us about an interesting project or topic that you are currently running with one of your classes?

I was recently involved in putting together Marymede Catholic College's first extra-curricular Snow Program at Mt. Hotham. The program was a huge success, offered to students in Years 8-12 who had demonstrated high levels of commitment and endeavour in their studies.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a Teacher?

Building relationships, inspiring young minds and teaching something which I am passionate about.

Fast Five:

Favourite Food: Chocolate or Greek Yoghurt

Favourite Movie/TV Show: At the moment I am hooked in 'Orange is the New Black'

Hidden Talent or Something We May Not Know About You: I can crochet.

Favourite Sporting Team/Athlete: I'm not one for 'favourite teams' - although I do consider myself part of the black and white army.

Or

Torah Bright - She is my ideal sports star. An incredible Snowboarder and an all-round beautiful person.

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?:

My Grandparents - From my Father’s side who I never had the chance to meet.

My Fiance' - He is pretty awesome!

My Mum- Everyone loves their Mum!
