Every Child is Known and Nurtured
At Marymede, we know that students thrive when they are truly known and genuinely nurtured. We work in partnership with families to build strong, positive relationships and create a warm, caring and safe environment where every child feels supported and valued.
Our approach combines a strong focus on wellbeing with expert teaching and high expectations, ensuring that every student is supported to grow academically, socially and emotionally. We believe that meaningful learning is strengthened when home and school work together, and we highly value the role families play in their child’s development. Ongoing communication and connection with parents is an important part of this partnership.
From the very beginning of a child’s journey at Marymede, we take the time to understand each learner. Before students commence in Prep, we gather insights during transition and early assessment experiences to help teachers identify individual strengths, needs and starting points. This enables targeted, differentiated teaching that supports every child to learn, grow and succeed.

Meeting Each Student Where They Are
We recognise that students learn in different ways and at different rates. Our approach to differentiated classroom practice ensures that teaching is responsive to the needs across the cohort, so all students feel supported, appropriately challenged and engaged in their learning.
When learning is too difficult, students can feel anxious and overwhelmed. When it is too easy, they may lose interest. Our teachers carefully adjust learning tasks, supports and levels of challenge to meet the needs of students within the class, helping everyone to stay motivated and make meaningful progress.
Through ongoing monitoring of both engagement and achievement, teachers develop a strong understanding of how students are progressing. This allows them to provide additional support where it is needed or extend learning for students who are ready for greater challenge.
By adapting teaching and learning within the classroom, students are given opportunities to demonstrate their growth and success. Achievements are celebrated, and when challenges arise, timely support ensures that all learners remain on track and continue to thrive.
