Year 8 SACCSS Premier League Round 1

On Wednesday 17 September, Marymede Catholic College Doreen had six teams in action against Antonine College in Round 1 of the Year 8 Premier League Season.

Congratulations to all staff and students who were involved, with six of our eight teams competing on the day and three teams recording strong victories.

A special mention goes to our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams, who both secured dominant wins. The Boys team claimed an emphatic 82-24 victory, while the Girls team were just as impressive with a commanding 97-21 win. Adding to the success, our Girls Volleyball Team produced a clean sweep, defeating Antonine College 3-0.

Well done to all students for their excellent behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship across all matches.  A fantastic start to the season—best of luck to all teams for the rounds ahead!

SACCSS Junior Girls Blast Cricket Tournament

On Friday 10 October 2024 Marymede Catholic College Doreen participated in the SACCSS Junior Girls Blast Cricket Tournament.

Our first game was a thrilling encounter, with Marymede securing a narrow 95–94 victory over Salesian College.

In our second match, the girls faced a strong St Francis College Melton side and unfortunately went down in a close contest.

The third game of the day saw another competitive effort, with a narrow defeat to Thomas Carr College. Despite the result, our team continued to show excellent spirit, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Overall, the girls displayed outstanding sportsmanship and represented the College with pride. They finished 3rd overall in their group after a very windy and challenging day of Blast Cricket.

In the 3rd place playoff, Marymede faced Caroline Chisholm Catholic College from Group D. The girls produced a dominant performance, claiming a convincing 163–70 victory to finish the day on a high note.
